Your library can hold two kinds of saved words: catalog words from search, and custom words you write yourself. Both count toward the Free 50 saved words limit.

Catalog words

Look up a word in Search, open the result, and save it. Catalog cards use dictionary definitions, examples, audio, and related forms when those fields exist. You can favorite, archive, or add them to collections after they are saved.

Custom words

Create a word when it is not in the catalog, or when you want your own definition.
1

Open Create New Word

On Search, choose Create New Word. You can also add a custom word from Library → Words.
2

Fill in the required fields

Enter the word, a definition, and a part of speech. An example sentence is optional.
3

Save, then edit later if needed

The word is stored in your library like any other saved word. To change it later, use Edit a custom word.
Custom words do not pull new dictionary data when you refresh saved word cards. Catalog words can be refreshed from Account → Data.
