Monthly credits and purchased credits are separate balances. What are AI credits? is the short version of what a credit buys; this page is how the two balances are spent.

Monthly credits

Your plan includes a monthly AI credit allocation. The amount on Pricing and Billing is the source of truth. Both Default gameplay and selecting a specific model use one credit per delivered AI prompt (or Memory Match pair). Monthly credits refresh each cycle. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.

Purchased credits

Any plan can buy a credit pack. Purchased credits do not expire. When the monthly allocation runs out, eligible games use purchased credits until they are gone.

What uses a credit

Only AI games spend credits. The full list is in Which games use AI credits. Quiz, flashcards, Definition Match, Speed Round, and Spelling Bee never use credits. When both balances are empty, AI games stay locked until credits refresh, you upgrade, or you buy more.
