# Edit a collection

> Change a collection name, appearance, or words.

Update a custom collection's name, appearance, filters, or saved words from Collections.

**1. Open Collections and select the custom collection you want to change**

**2. Choose the edit control for that collection**

**3. Update the collection name, color, or icon, or move to the word-selection step to add and remove saved words.**

**4. Use the search and filters to find words. Select or clear words as ne...**

**5. Select Save or submit the form. The updated collection appears in your Collections list.**

> **You can only edit custom collections**
>
> Default collections are maintained automatically by Vocab Monster. To change their contents, save or archive words so they meet the collection's rules.
