# Onboarding and Goals

> Choose the path that matches how you want to learn.

New accounts pick a learning goal once. You can change it later in [Change your learning goals](/help/account/change-your-learning-goals.md).

**1. Choose Just here to learn**

Use this for general vocabulary building with no exam path.

**2. Or choose Studying for a test or exam**

Use this for an exam-focused path.

**3. Select exam focuses when prompted**

Onboarding shows SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and MCAT, plus **Other** (you can type a custom focus) and **Just here to learn**. Account → Learning also includes DAT, PCAT, NCLEX, CPA, and Praxis.

**4. Select Continue**

Your choices are saved to the account. [Home](/help/getting-started/home-and-word-of-the-day.md) is the usual next stop.
