# Change or reset your password

> Update your password in Account settings or reset it by email.

Google, passkey, and magic-link accounts can still **set** a Vocab Monster password. A saved password is required before you [disconnect Google Sign-In](/help/account/disconnect-google-sign-in.md).

## Change or set your password while signed in

Open [Account → Security](https://app.vocabmonster.com/account#security).

**1. Open Account → Security**

Sign in, open **Account**, then choose **Security**.

**2. Set or change the password**

If you have never saved one, use **Set password**. If you already have one, enter your current password, then the new password twice. It must be at least 8 characters.

**3. Save the change**

Your new password is ready the next time you sign in. If prompted, sign in again with it.

## Reset a forgotten password

If you can't sign in, request a password reset email from the [sign-in page](https://app.vocabmonster.com/login).

**1. Enter the email address on your account**

Use the address associated with your Vocab Monster account.

**2. Choose Send password reset**

Check your inbox. If the email doesn't arrive, check spam.

**3. Open the email link and set a new password**

Choose a password with at least 8 characters and submit it.
